MICRO MACHINES: WORLD SERIES lets you race miniature vehicles, each equipped with weapons to take down enemy cars. No split screen on offer either so you are limited to a bland max 4-player elimination mode. Codemasters have done a great job of bringing Micro Machines into the present day. The laps themselves are so abysmally short (some take around 10 seconds to complete) that its like running a 400 meter race around a 40 meter track, round and round with no variety. Playing Micro Machines: World Series with a monitor felt much more responsive, to my relief. There is absolutely no single player championship option in this game. Making your way through a long and varied championship, driving along long laps was a blast. Just like in Mad Tracks you drive little toy cars through 50 miniature-size all-day environments like over a pool table or through the eaves gutters of a house. After over 9 years of waiting, Micro Machines V4 is the first true new game in the Micro Machines series and the direct successor to Micro Machines V3. This game has been designed exclusively with online play in mind.
